阿發是好吃懶做又好賭的賭徒，一日老婆阿花命其上街買菜，阿發半途手癢又輸個精光，回家被阿花痛毆一頓，鼻子腫如芒果，並被逐出門戶。阿發夜宿破廟遇村人正在找豬，遂自稱為「通天大仙虎鼻師」，可嗅出失物而騙得一頓吃喝且轟動鄉里。 鄭王爺失落王印，命虎鼻師限期三天找出王印，否則殺頭。王爺大排酒宴犒賞意外破案的虎鼻師，虎鼻師竟請王爺造通天梯供其登天。雷公厭惡虎鼻師專門騙人，一鎚將其打落凡間變成愛到處嗅味道的螞蟻。

本節目為配合親子活動，特別設計認識傳統布袋戲元素，例如桌椅、五彩布等，以表演的方式讓觀眾有獎徵答。
